Commercialization and Innovation Leadership Program
Mission
The mission of the Commercialization and Innovation Leadership Program (CILP) is to support ambassadors and fellows throughout UK Innovate to provide foundational knowledge to lessen the learning curve and provide more comprehensive training for those looking to move into the innovation space.
The Commercialization and Innovation Leadership Program supports students in a 2-pronged approach: foundational knowledge via short course videos coupled with hands-on training and mentorship to provide a holistic program experience.
Our ambassadors play a crucial role in supporting our team across a variety of efforts. Students assist with social media, graphic design, event coordination, copywriting and more, contributing to the success of all our projects and initiatives. Their work helps elevate the visibility and impact of UK Innovate’s work, while providing them with valuable hands-on experience.
Programs and Initiatives:
Launch Blue Marketing and Communications Ambassador – supports the Launch Blue team through web development, creative, communications, etc while supporting innovators and founders in Kentucky, and beyond.
Invest Blue Ambassador – supports the Launch Blue Ventures: Invest Blue team to build a community network of startups and angel investors in Kentucky, and beyond.
Social Innovation Ambassador: supports the UKI Social Innovation team to position social innovations for partnering and licensing outside of the campus ecosystem.
Commercialization Ambassador: supports the UKI Commercialization team to market innovations and position them to be attractive to outside companies.
UK Innovate Marketing Ambassador: supports UKI Marketing operations contributing to the success of all our projects and initiatives at the university.

Must be a University of Kentucky student, preferably undergraduate, but may accept graduate students on a case by case basis.
Ability to work 10 hrs/week

Meet Our Commercialization and Entrepreneurial Leadership Fellows
Our Fellows represent a select group of undergraduate and graduate students that are passionate about driving innovation forward and translating academic research outcomes into impact. Upon completion of our programs, our students are successfully positioned at the intersection of academia, industry, and entrepreneurship with intentionality around developing their knowledge, skills, and networks in the innovation space.
